This course was helpful in recognizing signs and symptoms of trauma, understanding how trauma affects areas of the brain, and brief overview of modalities to help address maladaptive coping mechanisms during therapeutic sessions.

An excellent presentation on trauma and its relationship to life problems. The concept that trauma is related to the protection of the individual and is a normal protective response is a wonderful point. Five key interventions that were presented are extremely helpful.

This course is a great introduction into the foundations of trauma. It synthesizes key details from the works of trauma experts Peter Levin and Bessel van deer Kolk, and offers ways for clinicians to expand their treatment efficacy with effective treatment modalities.

Good presentation of information about trauma experience and symptoms. Too little time explaining strategies to use in session, and too little theoretical/empirical support for recommended strategies.
