Course Overview

Via recorded webinar
Course Description:
Children are generally the ones most profoundly impacted by divorce. Their world is often confused and dark as they watch their once adored behemoth parents fight battles that frequently don’t have to be fought.

The behavior and choices of each parent directly impacts their child’s emotional, spiritual and even physical wellbeing. This course will show therapists how to best support their clients in promoting cooperative co-parening that fosters healthy and resilient children, one side at a time.

We will first explore the often overlooked aspects of each individual parent’s worldview and internal needs and wants and the child’s emotional outlay and show how this directly impacts coparenting. We will then set down effective rules and skills for healthy coparenting including communication and conflict resolution skills. We will define amicable vs. high conflict divorce and the time frames of separation to years after divorce and set down skills and expectations for each time period.

We will review many techniques and interventions to help establish stability for children of divorce and address special cases including addition, new romantic partners, parental alienation, and legal considerations.

This course is a must for every coparent and therapist supporting the coparenting process.
