This training was wonderful. I learned a variety of ways to incorporate dreams into my practice with youth and families. The instructor touched on how to get caregivers involved, how to help the youth communicate their dreams, and ways to be a safe container for nightmares.

The 2021 play therapy conference was a wonderful experience! It had many practical interventions to utilize during our therapeutic sessions. I loved the multicultural aspect of different presenters from around the world. I am looking forward to future trainings. 

Core Wellness courses are much more practical than many I have completed. I enjoy being able to walk away with skills that I can apply in my practice as opposed to just theories and statistics. I look forward to more courses from them.

I really liked the Sexual Trauma Healing Program. I think it is a good structure. I also appreciate Dr. Tropper's explanation for asking questions regarding drinking and other addictive habits, as clients may not be upfront about their use.

Treating trauma is an essential skill in therapy and this training by Dr. Joseph Trapper are helping me gain this skill in my work.

This was a great training that validates the Prescriptive way of practicing the art of therapy. It was great to watch and learn from practitioners around the world as they modeled session activities that promote and enhance a child's ability to express and articulate what the child is thinking and feeling.

I thought the instructor was knowledgeable, but the training would have been more beneficial if there were more interventions that didn't require buying a lot of supplies. Also, I would have liked to see interventions that were simpler and would not take up the entire session or multiple sessions. Plus, things that are less messy would have been helpful because in my setting I don't have a sink nearby to wash up messes from paint or slime.

I always look forward to this training. I take away skills I can use immediately with the clients that I serve.

April Duncan's knowledge and skills were so impressive and her style very engaging. I work with seniors, but I felt drawn into this course and eager to try this type of therapy with my clientele.

This training balances emphasis on the basics of online therapy with children and specific and useful interventions that can be done via telehealth with children. The interventions provided can be used with a wide array of focus/concentration abilities and a variety of symptoms/diagnoses. They are both fun to help with engagement, and grounding to help with kids who are easily amped up or dysregulated by physically active interventions. I appreciate the variety of interventions and that many of them can be implemented both via telehealth and in person.

She presented detailed instruction on evidence based psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral treatment for insomnia as well as associated treatments and strategies to best help our clients (and even ourselves) struggling with insomnia.

It was a great and interactive seminar that touched on many diverse and relevant techniques. It was a wealth of information. It was great to see all the different techniques being used around the world!

I'm happy I attended the course. I learned a lot of tools and innovative resources to engage children online. It is hard to plan and try to retain the focus of children through a monitor, but the techniques and ideas provided are fun, and children love fun. If they do not feel like it is a session or exercise, they will look forward to meeting the counselor weekly or during the scheduled time. The facilitator did a great job giving examples and including attendees to participate. Although I was in the crowd, she made me feel like a happy kid in the session. She does an amazing job with her tone, occasional smiles and making the attendees feel welcome. I will use some of what I learned today and apply it to my practice.

Presenter was clear and concise. Distinction between the various diagnoses in DSM of Bipolar were quite helpful. She used many examples from her own practice and research which was quite impressive. The time allotted could have been increased, but due to the short nature, I was able to return to my workday without interruption. Her resources are great and I am planning to purchase the workbooks that she recommended. I am looking forward to next week's training as well.

This was one of the few trainings that I have experienced in which the presenter provided practical therapeutic activities and discussed processing. Most trainings on this topic are heavy on statistics and factors, I appreciate how this presentation provided facts as well as encouraged creativity in the counseling room.

This training was helpful in working with clients of all ages but especially children. The training was informative and easy paced for understanding how to create a "calming" space, using muscle memory, the senses, and more.

This trainer is highly skilled, experienced, engaging and effective presenter. This was a highly informative training on termination, leaving clinicians with multiple specific tools and interventions to faciliate more effective termination with the children and families they serve. I found this training to be very helpful in my clinical work with children and their families.

This training exceeded my expectations. As a pre-licensed therapist, I learned so much about Sand Tray therapy, but also play therapy in general, and various seminal theories (theoretical orientations) that can inform my practice. I walked away feeling confident in implementing sand tray therapy with clients. Dr. April is clearly knowledgeable, and is a skilled therapist, as well as presenter - she made the training fun, authentic and engaging (even as someone that watched the recorded session). I really enjoyed this presentation. The interventions were well-explained and useful.

There was so much packed into this hour and it all flowed seamlessly together in a way that built upon the concepts. The instructor has an easy and pleasant manner and is obviously passionate about the topic.

I thought it was a wonderful idea to bring together play therapist's from around the world. I was able to see the differences and similarities between all of the instructor's. I thought it was extremely helpful to see the techniques demonstrated. I appreciated the inclusion of theoretical orientation and discussion sections. I will be utilizing these techniques in my practice as a play therapist. I hope that more of these trainings will be done in the future.

This training was very helpful in supporting my work as a trauma focused play therapist. It was nice to receive a refresher or learn how to integrate techniques into the teletherapy platform I use for some clients. If you can gain a few new techniques I would say this training is very worth it! Not to mention a few CEUs! I was very impressed by the diversity of presenters not only demographically but also theoretical background and orientation.

This training should be mandatory for all graduates and all therapists. Why was I not taught about trauma? All my clients need these interventions.

As a clinical psychologist and Registered Play Therapist I have had decades of training and taken countless seminars. Lynn Louise Wonders' 20 Play Therapy Interventions for Anxiety with Older Children was a delightful surprise. Her enthusiasm and deep understanding of what it takes to engage this sometimes difficult age group by using creative and engaging strategies is the best I have ever seen. The strategies were indeed creative yet presented with succinct clarity and straightforward instructions. Sometimes these seminars can be tedious at the end of which one wonders what of this will I actually use, but every strategy she taught made intuitive sense for the play therapy process and was easy to grasp. I eager to try them. At the end, she presents several short well done psycho-educational videos that could be used directly with our clients and sprinkles the entire presentation with resources. Thank-you for this engaging educational experience .

I found the information extremely helpful. Some of the children I work with have severe behavioral issues and are working on increasing their focus beyond 30 seconds; as such, not all of the techniques were relevant for my client demographic. But where applicable, the lessons here have been effective, particular with children who experience anxiety, lack interpersonal skills, and who experience symptoms of trauma disorders and attachment disorders. Some of the presenters gave useful, fresh ideas for telehealth with children.

Very well organized course with lots of practical tips

For a worldwide event, this was incredibly well-organized and the variety of play approaches increased my knowledge as well as curiosity to learn even more. 

I really liked all the videos! It was great all around. I learned how to hear, empathize and communicate with couples effectively. The 10 points to focus on when working with couples. Also, communication and empathy is key.

Before attending this training, I was uncertain about the therapeutic value of some games and which ones to include in the playroom, so I now have another tool for my kit. This training was excellent is teaching child clinicians about this common but little known childhood challenge. I liked the history, the interventions, and the encouragement that parents need to be involved.

This training was tremendously useful. I always walk away from away from Ms. Hartstein's trainings with tons of new ideas and this was no exception. Today my notes include 60 interventions that I can use with my clients, and I'm so excited to try them out! I also love how she weaves together a variety of play therapy modalities -- her training is focused on CBT but includes dramatic play, music, games, art, role play, narrative tools, bibliotherapy, and more. I highly recommend this training!

I loved the variety of resources presented and the presenters' backgrounds

I really enjoyed this course, and though there were a couple of small hang-ups with Zoom, I thought that the virtual training worked pretty well. It was helpful to learn more of the fundamentals of mindfulness, and to learn some exercises and techniques that can be used with clients. Would love to participate in a follow-up training with some case examples! Great training, and would recommend to others.

Kadesha Adelakun is a wise guide in navigating cultural and racial considerations for play therapists. She is an important voice in the counseling community, celebrating the dignity of every unique individual and their story.

The instructor presented the topic of tackling trauma in play therapy in an engaging and very clear manner, explaining concepts such as the use of touch in play therapy, and it’s pros and cons as well as other interventions that can best help children experiencing trauma navigate the inevitable issues that arise.

It is an international play therapy conference as all the speakers are dedicated in helping children with play techniques. Their deep love of children is seem through the techniques sharing in the webinar. My heart is deeply touched by our presenters and hope to learn more from each of them. Thank you to the organizer - it was   such a success and wonderful experience for me.

I found Dr. Treisman's training on using play and expressive arts to help traumatized children self-regulate to be extremely helpful because of the attention and care given to pacing and strategies for facilitating the integration of the regulatory skills based on the neuroscience of developmental and relational trauma.

In was really inspiring and eye opening. I came out feeling so happy and enriched with all the new information I could incorporate into daily practice.

I liked that several different styles, modalities, and interventions were presented. It was helpful in making sure there was something to take away from the training for everyone (hopefully) as well as ideas for working with different age groups.

I enjoyed the presentation and the instructor's passion for bibliotherapy was contagious. I want to run out and beef up my library! While I was grateful for the rationale for using bibliotherapy, what I appreciated most was the instruction in application.

I had studied DBT some, but never in relation to a Bipolar diagnosis. The techniques and considerations given were very helpful! Treating the person and the coping behavior, rather than their diagnosis as a definition of who they are is an amazing lens to learn from! These techniques can help anyone with Bipolar, their loved ones, or anyone experiencing life stressors. Sheri was very easy to listen to and the time flew by.

This was the clearest, most well-organized and comprehensive training I've seen that addresses teens' behaviors in the context of developmental needs and what is occurring in their brains that make their behaviors make sense (and what to do when the behaviors are problematic). Excellent presentation!

This is a useful training, and definitely helps to increase the viewer's understanding of the development of different play therapy models and approaches.

The training was informative, useful, and interactive. There were a lot of ideas given for interventions that I will implement in my work with kids. I wasn't sure about this training when I signed up since I don't typically address client's dreams very often but the training ended up giving me ideas of ways I could incorporate the information into my current work. 

I loved April's teaching style. She is engaging, clear and informative. I will absolutely take a workshop with her again.

Mrs. Reed did an excellent and thorough job explaining the ethical components of documentation. We often overlook many minor components but she clearly explained why the key points are necessary for a variety of reasons.

Tips and Techniques for online Therapy with Children provided ample activities for children of all ages that are easy, quick, and simple to complete all while providing opportunities to explore and process thoughts and feelings.

A fantastic brief overview of eating disorders that is not negative towards different body types and recognizes how to treat clients experiencing EDs of all types. Offered many different clinical interventions as well as when to make the decision to refer to higher levels of care. 

Exceptional use of media and very well thought out.

I found this training to be very current and useful. I have been working with children with OCD for some time, however, I learned a lot of new information and interventions I can use with children and their families. The slides were also very helpful.

This is a great intro training to Bipolar D/O. It goes through all of the criteria for the different diagnosis, episodes, psychotic features etc. It's clear and the instructor does a good job mixing in her experience working with individuals with BD along side describing the illness.

This CEU course gave learners a chance to understand the fundamentals of Positive Psychology. The best part was all the interventions and hand-outs included to actually use this framework!

I think that this training was very informative. It offered a number of different interventions with clear examples that were specific to the work of children's mental health. I also love how there were presentations from different cultures. It demonstrated that diversity is so important with working with kiddos and allowed for a safe space for the therapists as well!

The instructor presented the topic of child protection versus parental rights, and subsequently child right, and grandparent rights in a very interesting and engaging manner. She gave a thorough lesson of how various court cases have shaped these rights over time. Ethics and law in therapy is not always the most engaging topic and yet I found the topic/course fascinating and am curious to take similar courses given by this instructor in the future.

LOVED this program! The speaker (Happy Birthday!) was knowledgeable & personable - clearly an expert, and not at all "showy". I appreciated his knowledge & his humor , & his relaxed & engaging manner. All instructor's demonstrated great creativity, wisdom and knowledge about various activities and how they integrate into addressing many life areas and mental health issues that create an internal healing for kiddo's and parents.

Great course, learned good techniques for my practice

I think that the presentation was well-organized. It was great and interesting to hear from others around the world. It gave me new knowledge, and fun activities that I will certainly use with the children I work with.

The instructor was very knowledgeable about the legal and ethical implications about being a mandated reporter for child abuse. This difficult topic was presented in a caring, interesting, and comprehensive manner giving participants the tools and confidence needed to address such concerns if they arise in our own practices.

This was wonderful training. I highly recommend it if you are just getting into Sandtray as a new therapist. The content is immediately applicable, and the instructor teaches it in a not-overwhelming way.

I absolutely loved this Playborhood training! I loved hearing all the different ideas that people from across the world had. I especially enjoyed how these activities covered several different types of theoretical orientations as well, meaning that there was something for every therapist who attended regardless of their theoretical orientation. This was a very fast-paced training so I had to write quickly when taking notes. I am very thankful for the HUGE resource handouts as well!

This was most probably the best course I've attended in a long while. It was jam packed with simple but really effective ideas that can be used with a range of clients, children, young people and even adults in both individual work and group/family therapy work. Each speaker presented their technique with knowledge and enthusiasm and it was really easy to see how I could apply these to my own practice. I will definitely be looking out for next years conference.

This training was absolutely exceptional. I loved all of it. From the resources to share with parents, the assessment and treatment plan ideas, to the examples from her own practice. Further to that also sharing the many resources and developmentally fitting strategies that she has spent much time learning about and then creating herself as well. I so appreciate the generosity and am so excited to share this with the children and families coming in to see me next week!

This is a great course on grief. It goes over the different models to use in sessions and discusses so many different aspects of grief. The instructor is fantastic, very thorough and organized!

It's a beautiful day in the playborhood: World Edition! was a fabulous training in learning different play therapy techniques from experts around the world. I learned valuable tools to use in the clinical setting and also with students that I work with in a public school. I look forward to using these techniques and integrating them into my practice. The Core Wellness team was prompt at answering questions and the training was well timed and laid out. 

I really enjoyed having a wide number of presentors come together to share there knowledge and expertise with the rest of us.

This was a great training with many practical activities and interventions to use with clients. The presenter was engaging, answered questions throughout and was very creative in showing actual videos of how the interventions work with clients. Super helpful for my work with children and teens with a variety of diagnoses.

This is my second year of attending the webinar for Playborhood. I enjoyed all of the presenters and the activities that they presented in 2021 that I was excited to see what was in store for 2022. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I got some more great activities to use with my clients. It also inspired me and got my creative wheels going in my head to add to the activities presented. I can't wait for the next one! One day I hope to be a presenter for Playborhood!

I really enjoyed the discussion of defense mechanisms and games. I especially liked learning about mind masking, a useful technique that we as therapists should master.

Wonderful summary of subtypes of eating disorders many of us see in our practices on a regular basis.

I was a jolly child watching it! It was very informative and I can safely say I"m ready to work with children.

Both instructors presented the material on enuresis and encopresis in a very informative and engaging manner. I learned applicable techniques I can use with clients (and with my own child’s bed wetting issues) such as creating a visual bathroom map to better help a child that is dealing with this issue.

This was a valuable webinar from a well-respected and knowledgeable instructor and therapist. The videos were especially helpful, and I appreciate the specific examples and materials provided.

This was an excellent training. As a supervisor who has been in the field for many years, I usually take trainings as a requirement and feel a bit of dread when hearing the same themes over and over again. This training was different! I really enjoyed it. Thank you for providing a training that presented a fresh framework and new spin on analyzing and labeling supervisee and supervisor development.

This training was so beneficial and informative; I honestly wish that it was longer and could be expanded for a couple days or even an entire week! All of the presenters were experienced, knowledgeable, and provided practical interventions for use with children and adults. I appreciated the diversity and representation from around the world, along with cultural considerations provided. All of the resources that were given to supplement this live webinar are the cherry on top of wonderful presenters and a well-organized program! I would definitely recommend this training or any future trainings provided by this excellent team of experts!
