This training provides an overview of two different developmental supervision models that help supervisors identify the status of professional development levels of supervisees and determine what role and skills a supervisor needs to assume. The focus of this training is to provide specific application to play therapy supervision services when working with more experienced therapists who are working with child clients and families using play therapy services.
Note: Course meets MD Social Work 3 CE Supervision Requirement COMAR 10.42.08.04A(2)(c).

Upon the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Name and describe two developmental supervision models for working with experienced therapists.
- Recall the supervisor’s potential roles with supervisees who are more advanced in their professional development as a play therapist.
- Identify elements of transference and counter-transference that more experienced therapists may encounter while providing play therapy services, and then be able to process in supervision.
- Apply two developmental models to six fictional case scenarios.
