Excellent course.

This course is a great introduction into the foundations of trauma. It synthesizes key details from the works of trauma experts Peter Levin and Bessel van deer Kolk, and offers ways for clinicians to expand their treatment efficacy with effective treatment modalities.

How great was that day! Not only did I get a a lot of great information, free! There also was prizes! I wasn't expecting that! I will definitely be back!

As a seasoned LCSW, I learned a lot completing this training. I wished I had it at the beginning of my career. I plan to use a lot of the interventions in my practice as I have a lot of anxious children due to COVID. If you have bought or use Liana Lowenstein books in your therapy practice, taking her courses can help you see the interventions and psychoeducation in action. Highly recommend!

This training exceeded my expectations. As a pre-licensed therapist, I learned so much about Sand Tray therapy, but also play therapy in general, and various seminal theories (theoretical orientations) that can inform my practice. Dr. April is clearly knowledgeable, and is a skilled therapist, as well as presenter - she made the training fun, authentic and engaging (even as someone that watched the recorded session). I'm happy I attended the course. I learned a lot of tools and innovative resources to engage children online. It is hard to plan and try to retain the focus of children through a monitor, but the techniques and ideas provided are fun, and children love fun. If they do not feel like it is a session or exercise, they will look forward to meeting the counselor weekly or during the scheduled time. The facilitator did a great job giving examples and including attendees to participate. Although I was in the crowd, she made me feel like a happy kid in the session. She does an amazing job with her tone, occasional smiles and making the attendees feel welcome. I will use some of what I learned today and apply it to my practice.

I loved this training! This is my second time doing this training and would do it again. Along time ago I went to a training on sexual abuse with children from Liana Lowenstein and received a lot of good information. I certainly would go to another training in the future.

This was the clearest, most well-organized and comprehensive training I've seen that addresses teens' behaviors in the context of developmental needs and what is occurring in their brains that make their behaviors make sense (and what to do when the behaviors are problematic). Excellent presentation!

I have taken a few CEU's from Core wellness now and I am always impressed by the ease of registering and the knowledge and material of the presenters! Highly recommended.

Mrs. Reed did an excellent and thorough job explaining the ethical components of documentation. We often overlook many minor components but she clearly explained why the key points are necessary for a variety of reasons.

The instructor presented the topic of the ethics behind reporting child neglect in a clear and thorough manner, exploring such related issues as when we are mandated to report and when not, use of corporal punishment, etc.

The information felt a little bit like pouring old info into new bottles, however it was done in such a way that it provided a slightly different lens. Bravo!

This training was great! It had a nice balance of theory, assessment, and interventions. I enjoyed the experiential parts of the session as it allowed demonstration of some of the techniques mentioned. I now feel more confident in addressing grief with child and adolescent clients.

Ms. Lynn Louise Wonders is a very knowledge and experienced play therapist who provides informative information, playful interventions, and recourses regard to the issue of GAD in clinical practice when working with children and adolescents to facilitate the participant’s professional learning and growth.

This training was great because it allowed me to observe how others in similar and different situations use the strategies provided. I thought the instructor was friendly and gave honest feeback as to how the strategies can be effective. The content was great and I would like to further see how other therapist from around the world provide therapy. The style of the training was easy to understand.

It was good to know the most common ethical issues that arise for legal reasons.

This was a great training on Positive Psychology. While most of us probably use components of this model, it was nice to learn more helpful strategies and interventions to use with clients.

I absolutely loved this Playborhood training! I loved hearing all the different ideas that people from across the world had. I especially enjoyed how these activities covered several different types of theoretical orientations as well, meaning that there was something for every therapist who attended regardless of their theoretical orientation. This was a very fast-paced training so I had to write quickly when taking notes. I am very thankful for the HUGE resource handouts as well!

This was an informative training with great techniques to use in therapy sessions with children and their families. There is a good discussion of the rationale behind the techniques as well as how they can be modified.

This training gave practical knowledge and skills to help various clients using play-therapy techniques. It gave specific interventions to use with clients, a very brief theoretical framework and showed how to use the interventions with clients. The instructors were straight and to the point. It was very easy to listen to.

This is an essential comprehensive webinar to understand the underlying negative beliefs which are the root of the symptoms that often bring people into therapy.

The trainer was amazing and facilitated helpful discussion topics and even assisted us to find alternatives to incorporating each intervention with our clients. I really enjoyed this training even though I did not attend the live webinar. I always come back to the content that was presented in this training for reference when working with clients. I do wish that self harming /SI was a topic that was discussed in this training because it is very prominent within the child/ tween age range. Overall, I thought the instructor's activities and style were great. I learned a lot from this training and am excited to come back for the next edition!

I really appreciated the instructor's knowledge and style of presenting material. It is often easy to get distracted or lost in webinars but Lynn was engaging and the content remained applicable and interesting throughout. It was a great mix of looking at symptoms, assessment, treatment, parent communication, resource sharing, etc.

I enjoyed learning from 3 different therapists and different aspects of the topic. The training focused on all involved in the therapy process - the therapist, child client, and the client’s caregivers. I appreciated being able to learn more about the topic of emotion regulation and how to incorporate it into practice with the kiddos I work with, their caregivers, and how to address my own internal states in working with my clients.

I am thankful for the download handouts from this course and all other lists, charts etc. Dr. Jonice Webb provides, as they are very helpful in sessions, walking my clients through the treatment of CEN. I'm looking forward to implementing CEN into my private practice, here in Canada.

The training was very intriguing and pertinent to the population of kiddos I work with. I feel like I understand all the kids with sensory issues so much more in-depth now.

Presenter was clear and concise. Distinction between the various diagnoses in DSM of Bipolar were quite helpful. She used many examples from her own practice and research which was quite impressive. The time allotted could have been increased, but due to the short nature, I was able to return to my workday without interruption. Her resources are great and I am planning to purchase the workbooks that she recommended. I am looking forward to next week's training as well.

I really loved the online training. It was very informative and provided new up to date information/techniques from well trained providers. Hearing presenters from all over the world teach their favorite techniques was so incredibly engaging - I really loved it!! It felt very inclusive, especially knowing that we're all working with children who are going through the same things and have the same struggles. I left the online webinar having an arsenal of new tools that I can use. Not only will I be using these techniques myself, but I will be sharing them with colleges and in my supervision groups so that my team can also use these great techniques.

I really enjoyed learning about IFS and how to integrate it into my practice with couples as well as individuals. IFS contains a lot of what I have been looking for in addressing how we can release ourselves from the pain of our pasts and heal from those childhood hurts and trauma that impact us all. The presentation was straightforward, concise and informative. It left me feeling like this is something that I can do and be good at. I look forward to advanced training in this area.

I loved the enthusiasm of (most of) the presenters! They were engaging & fun & their passion for the work they do truly shined through! I loved all the resources shared, and never felt I was sitting through a 'sales pitch'! It is ever so important to have a variety of resources available - many of the presenters happily shared options! There were a few presenters who simply 'read' their power point - (not as engaging!); and one or two who spoke WAY too fast for anyone who was taking notes (good thing there is access to the recording!). Overall, however - the "learning" was fun, the information relevant (& current) and the variety of presenters and backgrounds & theory bases made for an excellent presentation! ...AND a fun-filled way to start my day! Thank you! ;-)

This felt like a good overview of the theory behind mindfulness as well as the practical application of techniques/skills to use with clients. The visual aids, examples, and videos were especially useful.

All instructor's demonstrated great creativity, wisdom and knowledge about various activities and how they integrate into addressing many life areas and mental health issues that create an internal healing for kiddo's and parents.

I thought the instructor was knowledgeable, but the training would have been more beneficial if there were more interventions that didn't require buying a lot of supplies. Also, I would have liked to see interventions that were simpler and would not take up the entire session or multiple sessions. Plus, things that are less messy would have been helpful because in my setting I don't have a sink nearby to wash up messes from paint or slime.

This training was tremendously useful. I always walk away from away from Ms. Hartstein's trainings with tons of new ideas and this was no exception. Today my notes include 60 interventions that I can use with my clients, and I'm so excited to try them out! I also love how she weaves together a variety of play therapy modalities -- her training is focused on CBT but includes dramatic play, music, games, art, role play, narrative tools, bibliotherapy, and more. I have enjoyed this training for two years now. I love the techniques and use them in my practice. This is one of the best trainings I have the pleasure to participate in every year.

Jessica was an amazing teacher. I really am intimidated by the technology world and I don't want to feel intimidated any longer and advance my own knowledge. Jessica takes the fear out of technology and I look forward to taking more trainings from her. 

This training was approachable and skillfully presented. I found myself walking away with a higher understanding of translating case conceptualization to treatment planning through the framework of the therapeutic powers of play. Although the trainer come from a very different theoretical background then myself I think she did a truly wonderful job exploring treatment planning from a variety of approaches which I found very helpful!

I really enjoyed the discussion of defense mechanisms and games. I especially liked learning about mind masking, a useful technique that we as therapists should master.

This is the 2nd Playborhood event I have attended, and each time I have been truly inspired and leave eager to try some of the new interventions I learned. I love hearing from clinicians from all over the world and to see how Liana has drawn everyone together to create this engaging forum. As a TF-CBT trainer and therapist, I can't wait to implement some of these ideas into the trauma work that I do.

I truly appreciated this webinar during  such a difficult and challenging time.  Additionally, as a retired and now returning to practice clinician, I so appreciated ideas on doing telehealth.  Liana has always been one of my favorite presenters and provider of great materials to use with children. This was most probably the best course I've attended in a long while. It was jam packed with simple but really effective ideas that can be used with a range of clients, children, young people and even adults in both individual work and group/family therapy work. Each speaker presented their technique with knowledge and enthusiasm and it was really easy to see how I could apply these to my own practice. I will definitely be looking out for next years conference.

I really appreciate the language used and attention paid to describing and connecting some important key elements of DBT. I picked up some new and meaningful ways to have conversations with the middle school-aged DBT group I facilitate.

The presenter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the topic, as well as engaging with the participants despite it being through webinar (vs in person). This course helped to normalize the prevalence and symptoms of trauma. As a clinician, I am now aware that many of my clients may come in with traumas, however "big' or "small" they are to the client. I appreciate the suggestions for intervention.

Thank you for the opportunity to attend this online training for free. It was well presented and an inspiring way to start off the new year. Thank you for all the time and effort that it must have taken to select the presenters and co-ordinate the wide range of skills and techniques presented.

The Playborhood gave me an opportunity to learn from experts around the world and add to my toolbox as a therapist. The handouts allow me to easily go back to the material and review and have resources to use with clients.

April Duncan's knowledge and skills were so impressive and her style very engaging. I work with seniors, but I felt drawn into this course and eager to try this type of therapy with my clientele.

This training was well-presented with actionable, easy-to-implement techniques to use in play therapy. The ides presented were diverse in use and theoretical underpinnings and were especially helpful to any one that wants to work with children and join with them in their world.

This was a great training with well-informed, thoughtful instruction from Lynn Louise Wonders and several (video) guest speakers. It was nice to have an instructor realize her own limitations as a white woman and invite guest speakers to present on their lived experiences.

I loved that there were such a different variety of trainers and techniques, as well as one specific activity with each trainer as a take away. I thought Lianna did a beautiful job asking pertinent questions at the end of each presenter that were very applicable to using each of the interventions.

As a clinical psychologist and Registered Play Therapist I have had decades of training and taken countless seminars. Lynn Louise Wonders' 20 Play Therapy Interventions for Anxiety with Older Children was a delightful surprise. Her enthusiasm and deep understanding of what it takes to engage this sometimes difficult age group by using creative and engaging strategies is the best I have ever seen. The strategies were indeed creative yet presented with succinct clarity and straightforward instructions. Sometimes these seminars can be tedious at the end of which one wonders what of this will I actually use, but every strategy she taught made intuitive sense for the play therapy process and was easy to grasp. I eager to try them. At the end, she presents several short well done psycho-educational videos that could be used directly with our clients and sprinkles the entire presentation with resources. Thank-you for this engaging educational experience .

This training was incredibly helpful. I received an overview of helpful therapies and resources to learn more and receive certifications in those therapies. With certain therapy styles, I've learned enough today to get started with clients if I wanted. I learned so many informative techniques to use with clients and plan to implement in my session this evening. I appreciated that the techniques were diverse and catered to the needs and mindsets of clients at varying points of the healing process and with different preferred healing and learning modalities.

Core Wellness has provided some very good trainings and this was one of the best. I think it is well worth any clinician's time to take this training. I learned from three talented instructors both about theory and about interventions to use in practice with clients around regulation and anger.

Both instructors presented the material on enuresis and encopresis in a very informative and engaging manner. I learned applicable techniques I can use with clients (and with my own child’s bed wetting issues) such as creating a visual bathroom map to better help a child that is dealing with this issue.

What an amazing training! Dr. Treisman was able to articulate advanced concepts in a way that was easy to understand and applicable to my client cases. Dr. Treisman's concept of allowing the client to define "calming" for them is a game-changer and one that needs to be incorporated in all trauma-focused trainings.

Excellent training that walks you step-by-step through the process of working with children who are SM. It provides a framework and ideas for moving from one stage to the next.

Dr Treisman embodies warmth, compassion, and skill. In this presentation, she teaches co-regulation as an experience. I felt the regulation through her teaching methods and found myself highly engaged and wanting to hear more. This is a challenge these days after SO many lessons being delivered virtually, but she is truly a gifted speaker.

Such an amazingly inclusive yet diverse training. I loved seeing all the demonstrations of the tools - really helped me visualize how I can implement in my own practice! Can't wait for the next training!

I really enjoyed this course, and though there were a couple of small hang-ups with Zoom, I thought that the virtual training worked pretty well. It was helpful to learn more of the fundamentals of mindfulness, and to learn some exercises and techniques that can be used with clients. Would love to participate in a follow-up training with some case examples! Great training, and would recommend to others.

The instructor presented the topic of tackling trauma in play therapy in an engaging and very clear manner, explaining concepts such as the use of touch in play therapy, and it’s pros and cons as well as other interventions that can best help children experiencing trauma navigate the inevitable issues that arise.

She presented detailed instruction on evidence based psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral treatment for insomnia as well as associated treatments and strategies to best help our clients (and even ourselves) struggling with insomnia.

Expressive Arts Webinar was a great training full of creative expressive interventions to use with clients of all ages.

I found Dr. Treisman's training on using play and expressive arts to help traumatized children self-regulate to be extremely helpful because of the attention and care given to pacing and strategies for facilitating the integration of the regulatory skills based on the neuroscience of developmental and relational trauma.

This training was helpful in working with clients of all ages but especially children. The training was informative and easy paced for understanding how to create a "calming" space, using muscle memory, the senses, and more.

The instructor was engaged, funny and knew the material well. Her examples are very helpful, and I appreciate her using examples about her personal life to drive points home. I could resonate with her examples, and she allowed the class to provide examples as well.

I enjoyed that the strategies and techniques were also tied back to theoretical frameworks. I enjoyed hearing about each presenters experience and credentials. I liked the examples that were provided throughout so that participants could really see the strategies in practice, I also enjoyed Liana asking additional questions to presenters especially in how to prompt a client when using the different tools. I enjoyed that the materials were provided in the handouts!

This training balances emphasis on the basics of online therapy with children and specific and useful interventions that can be done via telehealth with children. The interventions provided can be used with a wide array of focus/concentration abilities and a variety of symptoms/diagnoses. They are both fun to help with engagement, and grounding to help with kids who are easily amped up or dysregulated by physically active interventions. I appreciate the variety of interventions and that many of them can be implemented both via telehealth and in person.

Before attending this training, I was uncertain about the therapeutic value of some games and which ones to include in the playroom, so I now have another tool for my kit. The instructor was very knowledgeable, and a great reflection on how she has incorporated games, into her sessions with children, the dialogue that can take place during gameplay was also very useful.

Content was thorough, addressing both theory and practical applications. Speaker was knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. I enjoyed this training.

I have greatly appreciated the multicultural perspective given today and each presenter was thoughtful, engaging, and navigated the complexities of telehealth well!

The instructor presented the topic of child protection versus parental rights, and subsequently child right, and grandparent rights in a very interesting and engaging manner. She gave a thorough lesson of how various court cases have shaped these rights over time. Ethics and law in therapy is not always the most engaging topic and yet I found the topic/course fascinating and am curious to take similar courses given by this instructor in the future.

This presentation packs a lot of foundational knowledge into a short period of time.

I thought it was excellent and again Liana had so many ideas and resources to pass on.

I really liked the Sexual Trauma Healing Program. I think it is a good structure. I also appreciate Dr. Tropper's explanation for asking questions regarding drinking and other addictive habits, as clients may not be upfront about their use.

I had studied DBT some, but never in relation to a Bipolar diagnosis. The techniques and considerations given were very helpful! Treating the person and the coping behavior, rather than their diagnosis as a definition of who they are is an amazing lens to learn from! These techniques can help anyone with Bipolar, their loved ones, or anyone experiencing life stressors. Sheri was very easy to listen to and the time flew by.

This was a great presentation with lots of tips to take to the client. Understanding how we can change our physiology and how we can translate that to our clients is amazing!

This was probably the most useful workshop on play therapy that I've been to so far. It was straightforward and to the point of the research, the activity, the purpose, and the effectiveness. Each presenter seemed very knowledgeable on their topic, and I loved that presenters were from across the globe.

The course can be useful to daycare providers, foster care parents and anyone in a caregiver role. What I likes the most s was how to predict good behavior before it begins. To indirectly tell a child the behavior you want them to do. And also the empowering piece by saying “oh you know how to make a plan to get the game.”

I enjoyed the presentation and the instructor's passion for bibliotherapy was contagious. I want to run out and beef up my library! While I was grateful for the rationale for using bibliotherapy, what I appreciated most was the instruction in application.
