Course Overview

Via live interactive webinar
Course Description:
Misophonia is a condition that affects an estimated 10-20% of the population, yet it remains under-recognized and often misunderstood in therapeutic settings. This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of misophonia, including its prevalence, diagnostic criteria, and effective approaches for assessment and treatment. Designed for therapists working with diverse populations, the course addresses misophonia in children, teens, and adults, as well as its impact on families and couples.

A core focus of the workshop will be a phase-oriented treatment approach framed through an Internal Family Systems (IFS) or “parts work” lens. Participants will explore a range of interventions, incorporating trauma-informed and mind/body modalities such as EMDR, DBT, Somatic Experiencing, and Mindfulness. Additionally, the workshop will cover essential psychoeducation strategies to help clients and their families make informed decisions about care. Through this training, therapists will gain the tools needed to support individuals with misophonia and foster resilience in their relationships.
