In this engaging and interactive training, therapists will gain a broader knowledge of how to choose appropriate games with which to engage clients moving towards achieving their therapeutic goals. Participants will learn how games can be used to assess behavior, temperament, strengths and challenges, how to determine whether games are appropriate for the individual child’s treatment, and how to make a game more than just a game. Participants will learn to incorporate the play therapy modality into their game usage. Additionally, participants will learn a large array of therapeutic benefits of games and a variety of new games to incorporate in their practice. The training will demonstrate how to use specific games for children with different common diagnoses and how to have family sessions using game play therapeutically. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, practice, and apply their new knowledge and skills with different games in the training.
Note: This is an interactive training and is best maximized in person as games will be demonstrated and practiced, however, webinar is also offered. See the list of games that you may want to secure at home.
