I am always impressed by the trainings from Core Wellness CEU. Every one I have taken has truly been well-prepared, interactive, and engaging. The Somatic Interventions for Trauma Training that was offered by Dawn Bigler in May 2023 was informative, engaging, and well prepared. It was one of the rare trainings where I did not notice the time passing because I was so engrossed and learning so much.

I watched the recorded webinar afterwards, but I benefited from others questions and the instructors responses. The handouts were also very clear and easy to follow along with. The instructor was very knowledgeable and easy to listen to.

  The information provided in the training about the historical court cases that have led us to the current place we are with rights for children, parents and families was incredible. I'm not much of a history person but I thoroughly enjoyed learning about those cases.

Ms. Lynn Louise Wonders is a very knowledge and experienced play therapist who provides informative information, playful interventions, and recourses regard to the issue of termination in clinical practice when working with children and adolescents to facilitate the participant’s professional learning and growth.

This training was great because it allowed me to observe how others in similar and different situations use the strategies provided. I thought the instructor was friendly and gave honest feeback as to how the strategies can be effective. The content was great and I would like to further see how other therapist from around the world provide therapy. The style of the training was easy to understand.

Thank you for discussing attachment and adolescents, especially stressing the importance of attachment and security throughout life and therapists themselves.

This a helpful and useful training. It covered the basic understanding bipolar disorder and the different types, comorbidities and lightly covered treatment options. The trainer was well versed and easy to understand. After this learning session I signed up for the next session regarding treatment. I look forward to learning more about this issue .

I often get so caught up in how clients process their trauma in the therapy room, that I feel overwhelmed when it comes to treatment planning and actual interventions to use. This course helped me feel more confident in my ability to help trauma clients.

The instructor presented the topic of tackling trauma in play therapy in an engaging and very clear manner, explaining concepts such as the use of touch in play therapy, and it’s pros and cons as well as other interventions that can best help children experiencing trauma navigate the inevitable issues that arise.

Very informative

As a new therapist in my first few years before I can be clinically licensed these trainings are amazing. Being able to learn from experienced clinicians makes me feel more competent in my practice. This training gave me real life application that I can use and feel better prepared.

I absolutely LOVED how the therapeutic process was likened to a journey and the activities all reflected this theme from assessment through to termination, and how creative the options were. This was well worth my time and money! Amazing!

The instructor was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and  kept my attention. She explained the reasoning why things are helpful and gave step-by-step instructions which is helpful. I would recommend this for anyone.

As a clinician that was attending just to gain some more insight into play therapy as I have not used it in some time, I wanted to learn some strategies to apply to my work with adolescents on the Autism Spectrum. This is the most in-depth webinar presentation I have attended so far in my career as a mental health professional. I came in to this workshop not knowing much on the topic but walking away with in depth knowledge about imposter syndrome that I can immediately apply in my professional work with clients struggling with this issue.

Best online interactive training I have had. I usually try to go in person but this training makes me rethink my option of online trainings. I felt more involved than I have been in some in person trainings. The presenter was very knowledgeable and engaging.

I will have to watch it a couple of times to absorb the abundance of information!

The training was thorough and provided real life changing techniques I can use in my practice.

The most useful concepts I learned from this PD were thinking about EDs largely as experiential avoidance and the importance of providing positive feedback from food logs due to the shame factor.

I enjoyed the training from various therapists from around the world.  The take-aways were amazing and I believe my clients will love these techniques. 

Both instructors presented the material on enuresis and encopresis in a very informative and engaging manner. I learned applicable techniques I can use with clients (and with my own child’s bed wetting issues) such as creating a visual bathroom map to better help a child that is dealing with this issue.

This is a useful training, and definitely helps to increase the viewer's understanding of the development of different play therapy models and approaches.

This felt like a good overview of the theory behind mindfulness as well as the practical application of techniques/skills to use with clients. The visual aids, examples, and videos were especially useful.

This course helped to normalize the prevalence and symptoms of trauma. As a clinician, I am now aware that many of my clients may come in with traumas, however "big' or "small" they are to the client. I appreciate the suggestions for intervention.

Dr Treisman embodies warmth, compassion, and skill. In this presentation, she teaches co-regulation as an experience. I felt the regulation through her teaching methods and found myself highly engaged and wanting to hear more. This is a challenge these days after SO many lessons being delivered virtually, but she is truly a gifted speaker.

This training was amazing. It helped me understand the foundations of play therapy and how it all connects. I usually don't do well with learning history, but this training kept my attention and focus. I feel excited and encouraged to continue to learn about play therapy theories, models, and interventions.

This is a great course on grief. It goes over the different models to use in sessions and discusses so many different aspects of grief. The instructor is fantastic, very thorough and organized!

In was really inspiring and eye opening. I came out feeling so happy and enriched with all the new information I could incorporate into daily practice.

I felt the training was wonderful and enjoyed the multicultural aspect of the training. I felt the instructors presented some very new ideas and information.

I loved this home study. I am at the beginning of my journey using DBT and I feel as though I I have formed a good foundation of DBT. I found the presenter to be full of knowledge and she provided examples that were helpful. I felt eager to learn more at the end of the study.

Dr. Kurtz was extremely knowledgeable, but did a wonderful job making the audience feel as though we could take these skills to our own practice. Sometimes overly complicated trainings leave you feeling less capable but that was 100% not the case here.

This was one of the few trainings that I have experienced in which the presenter provided practical therapeutic activities and discussed processing. Most trainings on this topic are heavy on statistics and factors, I appreciate how this presentation provided facts as well as encouraged creativity in the counseling room.

I think that this training was very informative. It offered a number of different interventions with clear examples that were specific to the work of children's mental health. I also love how there were presentations from different cultures. It demonstrated that diversity is so important with working with kiddos and allowed for a safe space for the therapists as well!

Before attending this training, I was uncertain about the therapeutic value of some games and which ones to include in the playroom, so I now have another tool for my kit. The instructor was very knowledgeable, and a great reflection on how she has incorporated games, into her sessions with children, the dialogue that can take place during gameplay was also very useful.

Lianna's trainings are always on point and genuine. Her techniques are easy but not simple in that they permeate layers to allow for practical help and healing.

I found Dr. Treisman's training on using play and expressive arts to help traumatized children self-regulate to be extremely helpful because of the attention and care given to pacing and strategies for facilitating the integration of the regulatory skills based on the neuroscience of developmental and relational trauma.

As a clinical psychologist and Registered Play Therapist I have had decades of training and taken countless seminars. Lynn Louise Wonders' 20 Play Therapy Interventions for Anxiety with Older Children was a delightful surprise. Her enthusiasm and deep understanding of what it takes to engage this sometimes difficult age group by using creative and engaging strategies is the best I have ever seen. The strategies were indeed creative yet presented with succinct clarity and straightforward instructions. Sometimes these seminars can be tedious at the end of which one wonders what of this will I actually use, but every strategy she taught made intuitive sense for the play therapy process and was easy to grasp. I eager to try them. At the end, she presents several short well done psycho-educational videos that could be used directly with our clients and sprinkles the entire presentation with resources. Thank-you for this engaging educational experience .

Expressive Arts Webinar was a great training full of creative expressive interventions to use with clients of all ages.

I liked hearing about various interventions, how to apply them and their purpose with creative ideas. All the presenters seemed knowledgeable and I enjoyed the variety of approaches presented.

This training was great and helpful for new play therapists. I have recently completed my training in the mist of the pandemic and having additional resources during this time has been so helpful.

The speaker was pleasant to listen to, covered much in limited time, was informed, enjoyed his position helping others become informed.

Very professional presentation. The material is accessible and very relevant to any therapist.

I thought the instructor was knowledgeable, but the training would have been more beneficial if there were more interventions that didn't require buying a lot of supplies. Also, I would have liked to see interventions that were simpler and would not take up the entire session or multiple sessions. Plus, things that are less messy would have been helpful because in my setting I don't have a sink nearby to wash up messes from paint or slime.

The training provided me with additional interventions to use with my clients because I run out of ideas.

This is the 2nd Playborhood event I have attended, and each time I have been truly inspired and leave eager to try some of the new interventions I learned. I love hearing from clinicians from all over the world and to see how Liana has drawn everyone together to create this engaging forum. A fantastic brief overview of eating disorders that is not negative towards different body types and recognizes how to treat clients experiencing EDs of all types. Offered many different clinical interventions as well as when to make the decision to refer to higher levels of care. 

There was so much packed into this hour and it all flowed seamlessly together in a way that built upon the concepts. The instructor has an easy and pleasant manner and is obviously passionate about the topic.

This training balances emphasis on the basics of online therapy with children and specific and useful interventions that can be done via telehealth with children. The interventions provided can be used with a wide array of focus/concentration abilities and a variety of symptoms/diagnoses. They are both fun to help with engagement, and grounding to help with kids who are easily amped up or dysregulated by physically active interventions. I appreciate the variety of interventions and that many of them can be implemented both via telehealth and in person.

I'm happy I attended the course. I learned a lot of tools and innovative resources to engage children online. It is hard to plan and try to retain the focus of children through a monitor, but the techniques and ideas provided are fun, and children love fun. If they do not feel like it is a session or exercise, they will look forward to meeting the counselor weekly or during the scheduled time. The facilitator did a great job giving examples and including attendees to participate. Although I was in the crowd, she made me feel like a happy kid in the session. She does an amazing job with her tone, occasional smiles and making the attendees feel welcome. I will use some of what I learned today and apply it to my practice.

A truly helpful resource to a clinician who encounters disordered eating at a variety of levels. Easy to understand and includes practical interventions to utilize in practice as well as helpful information for when increased or medical treatment is necessary.

I had studied DBT some, but never in relation to a Bipolar diagnosis. The techniques and considerations given were very helpful! Treating the person and the coping behavior, rather than their diagnosis as a definition of who they are is an amazing lens to learn from! These techniques can help anyone with Bipolar, their loved ones, or anyone experiencing life stressors. Sheri was very easy to listen to and the time flew by.

My name is Jada Clark, MS, Resident in Counseling. The training was very insightful and provided me with resources to rely on as I continue enhance my counseling skills. As a beginning counselor, my goals are to strengthen connections between parents and their children to promote cohesion within the home and the family unity.

This was probably the most useful workshop on play therapy that I've been to so far. It was straightforward and to the point of the research, the activity, the purpose, and the effectiveness. Each presenter seemed very knowledgeable on their topic, and I loved that presenters were from across the globe.

You taught me to meet clients where they are at instead of pushing for my own agenda for them to immediately address trauma. 

The training was very intriguing and pertinent to the population of kiddos I work with. I feel like I understand all the kids with sensory issues so much more in-depth now.

Excellent clinical review of eating disorder treatment using FBT, IMT. Explained clearly from the medical and psychological viewpoint the severity and complexity of treating eating disorder clients, and reinforced the necessity of this specialization due to the lethality of this population.

The most useful lesson I learned from this training was using ego states to illicit self-awareness and the possibility to make changes. Great course!

The instructor was very skilled, the information was presented in a direct, easy to understand manner. I don't regularly use play therapy in my practice, but I still found the information easy to understand and useful.

This course was helpful in recognizing signs and symptoms of trauma, understanding how trauma affects areas of the brain, and brief overview of modalities to help address maladaptive coping mechanisms during therapeutic sessions.

I work with individuals, children and families affected by HT, DV, and SA. This knowledge will be added to my arsenal of guiding these clients to healing! The Instructor gave a lot of information in a short amount of time, though a bit too fast in some areas. However, I appreciate his appreciation for time management!

This is a great intro training to Bipolar D/O. It goes through all of the criteria for the different diagnosis, episodes, psychotic features etc. It's clear and the instructor does a good job mixing in her experience working with individuals with BD along side describing the illness.

I really loved the online training. It was very informative and provided new up to date information/techniques from well trained providers. Hearing presenters from all over the world teach their favorite techniques was so incredibly engaging - I really loved it!! It felt very inclusive, especially knowing that we're all working with children who are going through the same things and have the same struggles. I left the online webinar having an arsenal of new tools that I can use. Not only will I be using these techniques myself, but I will be sharing them with colleges and in my supervision groups so that my team can also use these great techniques.

I love Lianna Liana Lowenstein's creative interventions and I use them frequently in my practice.

I really liked the Sexual Trauma Healing Program. I think it is a good structure. I also appreciate Dr. Tropper's explanation for asking questions regarding drinking and other addictive habits, as clients may not be upfront about their use.

As a social worker, I greatly enjoyed the continued education training provided to my organization on the overview of trauma informed care. Its great to hear about other specialties in the field and get insight to their work. This training was wonderful. I learned a variety of ways to incorporate dreams into my practice with youth and families. The instructor touched on how to get caregivers involved, how to help the youth communicate their dreams, and ways to be a safe container for nightmares.

This was an excellent training. As a supervisor who has been in the field for many years, I usually take trainings as a requirement and feel a bit of dread when hearing the same themes over and over again. This was most probably the best course I've attended in a long while. It was jam packed with simple but really effective ideas that can be used with a range of clients, children, young people and even adults in both individual work and group/family therapy work. Each speaker presented their technique with knowledge and enthusiasm and it was really easy to see how I could apply these to my own practice. A good training, focusing on the evolution of parents' and children's rights, as well as the ways in which those sets of rights can come into conflict with one another.

This course provided a lot of helpful information about working with trauma clients and understanding attachment theory. I liked how it explored the somatic experiences of trauma and used examples to help clinicians to relate to what was being discussed.

As a pre-licensed therapist, I learned so much about Sand Tray therapy, but also play therapy in general, and various seminal theories (theoretical orientations) that can inform my practice. I walked away feeling confident in implementing sand tray therapy with clients. I loved learning the science behind the activities and how to discuss afterwards with our clients.

I enjoyed the training, it was very informational and the best part was to take practical techniques to use with clients. The presentation was organized and clear.

The presenter presented the course on talking to children and adults about crisis, particularly in this crisis age of COVID, in a very clear and currently appropriate manner. He provided developmentally appropriate techniques to use with varying age groups facing crisis.

I thought the training was great in teaching applicable and concrete interventions for play therapy. I enjoyed the connection presenters made with their technique and how to interpret it in different modalities. I enjoyed how the various techniques covered various age ranges and presenting concerns.

This training was so beneficial and informative; I honestly wish that it was longer and could be expanded for a couple days or even an entire week! All of the presenters were experienced, knowledgeable, and provided practical interventions for use with children and adults.
